Crazy Day

Crazy Day

Today we had Crazy day.  We all dressed up and paraded around the hall in front of the other classes.  A few of the children won a prize for the craziest outfit!
Well done Room 1 you are such a crazy bunch.  Have a great Easter break and we will see you all back next term.

Science with Room 2

Experimenting in Science

Today Rooms 1 and 2 carried out some experiments on "Which beak is best?".  The children circulated around 10 stations and had to predict and test which bird beak would work best for each different food item. There was lots of discussions and everyone had great fun trying to pick up the different items. Great science everyone!

Eggs, Eggs, Eggs, Eggs!

Bird eggs

Today Brody's mum kindly brought a collection of bird eggs into our classroom.  We were able to take a close look at eggs from so many wonderful birds we have in NZ, such as the Ruru, Pukeko, Emu and Hawk.  The children had a few questions and we discussed the differences between the eggs. Thank you for bringing in such a fabulous collection!

Making Bird Masks

Bird masks

On Friday we began making our bird masks for our shared lunch next Wednesday.  The children glued paper strips onto the masks and shaded in the eyes and beaks with pastel. We will assemble them on Monday and finish them off with colourful feathers. Nice masks room 1!
